COX PRAYER LETTER
(click here to learn about this letter, and how to use it effectively)
To our dedicated prayers, our sincerest hopes that the peace and joy of Christ would fill your lives in 2008!
We have many things we'd like to share with you about last month, and things coming up, but not enough space for everything. So we're going to ask you to see this blog update for information on how God has been working through your prayers last month, and jump straight into all of this months exciting information.
We've received an adjusted budget accounting for the weakening dollar against the strengthening Euro. We’re facing another new challenge. If we cut the kids' school tuition (sending them to a German public school instead of the Black Forest Academy which is a international English speaking mission school), the adjustment only sets us back 1%. This is a hard choice for us though, and a decision we don't want to make apart from God's will. Please be in prayer that God will make it clear to us whether or not we should make this cut to our budget. Many missionaries do cut the school tuition, and then pay for it out of their cost of living and years of service pay. However, we cut both of those last year.
We have a new matching grant! One of our supporters was so moved by the response to our previous grant, that they've offered to match new monthly commitments for the next two years! We're still working out the details, and how best to promote this new opportunity. Please pray that God would work powerfully through it to bring new partners into his exciting ministry in Europe.
Praise God that Ted has been offered an all expense paid video training at the National Press Photographer's Association's NewsVideo Workshop at the end of March. This is an exciting opportunity for Ted to experience a week of intense video training from award winning videographers. After he has completed the training it would be an ideal time for us to depart the U.S. and relocate in Germany! Please pray that God would provide all the remaining support that we need to get to the field and begin our ministry with Greater Europe Mission!
Finally, we hope you'll stand with us in prayer on January 20th. We'll be sharing our ministry vision with the Community Baptist Church of Pascoag (pronounced PASS-CO I think) Rhode Island. This is another opportunity for the Lord to move.
Blessings,
Ted and Brandy Cox

January 2007:
Monday: Please pray for Brandy at the local pregnancy center. Please pray that she will share God's love with all the people she interacts with today, that she will learn lots about how to minister to the unchurched, and for the IBS project she has been asked to participate in. Please pray that God will be glorified through it.
Tuesday: Please be in prayer for speaking opportunities in churches and to individuals/small groups, and specifically for our meeting on the 20th. We are hopeful these opportunities will provide connections to speak to additional churches and groups. Please also pray that God will connect us with those He has chosen to join our support team and that they will be obedient and generous. Please petition the Lord for his favor in this!
Wednesday: Please continue to lift up our kids. Although this is not Germany we are experiencing some culture shock here in Connecticut. Our kids are doing remarkably well, but each of us is struggling during this time. Please pray that God will be merciful and gentle with the kids as they realize we won't be going back to Colorado and this is how life will be until we move again to Germany. Please pray that God will clearly guide us regarding our support and the kids school tuition.
Thursday: Praise God for his continued ministry to our family here. We learn so much more through trials that we never can in ease. Both Ted and Brandy are struggling daily with what God is trying to teach us. We are discouraged by the perceived lack of interest in our ministry here and are beginning to question why God sent us to Connecticut. Please lift up our spirits, and pray that we will be good learners.
Friday: Please pray for our current financial supporters. We are tremendously close, and yet we're making almost no forward progress right now. In fact our support is decreasing due to the continued weakening of the dollar. Please pray that they will not become discouraged in this time of waiting .
Saturday: PRAISE GOD for all the wonderful opportunities to connect with churches last month. Praise the Lord for He is good. Our house sold. We are now free to go as soon as all of our support is in.
Sunday: Please continue to pray for us as we minister here in Connecticut and pursue leads to raise the rest of our support. We know that God has us here for a purpose.
